About me

I grew up in a small town with big dreams. As every barrel racer dreams of someday running down the alley of the Thomas & Mack, mine were no different. As years have gone on and my duties of being a wife and mother have taken my priority, my dreams are still big, but not to the size of qualifying to the NFR.

As I mentioned earlier, I am a wife of 5 years to my wonderful husband Philip, and mother of our two year old son, Cade. Together we raise and train barrel horses.  I compete in barrel racing ranging from local jackpots, futurities and rodeos.

For many, barrel racing is a hobby. For me, it is my business. The saying is true, "Love what you do and you'll never work a day in your life." However, this does have it's challenges and added stress of having to bring in a paycheck from every run. Sometimes you forget what brought you here in the first place. My hopes for this blog is that it will be a reminder of the dreamer I've always been as I strive to achieve those dreams that have now become goals.

Stop by my blog and share with me as I make my journey as a barrel racer and horsewoman, straight from the "heart of a barrel racer."
